Out of ashes, God brings beauty

Lufkin residents, Lauren and Tom Harris, purchased a custom built 18’x18’ Pro Loft Barn from the Atlas Backyard Sheds of Lufkin sales location in March of 2023, eight months after a fire burnt down their prior storage shed.

“Out of ashes, God brings beauty,” says Lauren describing their experience following the fire. “Our shed was nice that we had, but this one is so much better! It’s bigger, it’s easier to use, and I’m just so excited about it.”

On July 13, 2022, a fire originated on their neighbors property and burnt their fence down, caught part of their house on fire and completely destroyed their storage shed.

They knew they needed another building, and were planning to buy a small shed, but when Tom saw a two story barn, he knew that was what he wanted.

After looking online at various shed dealers, they spoke with Shane Harvey, the sales representative at the Atlas Backyard Sheds of Lufkin location, and was told Atlas could built a shed like that for them.

“We looked online at several different buildings, and so I sent a message online, and he called me back immediately,” said Lauren. “He was very friendly, very informative, and was really good. We just decided that was who we needed to go with.”

She said when the crew came out to build the shed, that they were very friendly and built the building exactly as they wanted.

“I am a huge decorator, I decorate for every season,” said Lauren. “We just have a huge collection of different decorations and I’m a crafter so I have lots of crafting stuff.”

She said their garage was completely full and unable to be used.

“I have all of my seasonal decorations organized into season so I can go right out there and grab what I need.”

They use the second floor to store Charles Dickens houses. Tom also plans to use the second floor to do woodworking as well.

“I will just say that Shane was amazing here in Lufkin,” said Lauren. “He just really helped us, he came out and looked at it, made sure everything went right, he called occasionally [to make sure] everything was on track. It was a good experience! He just made it easy which was so nice.”

Tom said, “it was very well coordinate and well managed. We’re extremely happy!”
